Recent UK weather upsetting your skin? Helen Reeves Nutrimetics Help Line February 15, 2012 No Comments
Snow, wind and rain take their toll on British and Irish skins.
Is there a quick fix? Yes, switch to an oil based moisturiser.
BUT check they do not contain mineral or petroleum oils as these tend to lie on the skin, are not absorbed, can draw the moisture out of the skin as well as clogging it.
Aromatherapy research shows that there is evidence that carrier oils rich in bonded essential fatty acids to bring benefits where the skin is dry, however
- Further research continues to show that oils interact with the skin very well.
- The skin produces its own oil (sebum), so it recognises and responds well to other oils, making them very effective at rebalancing the skin and treating dryness, lines, dehydration or even oiliness.
- Every oil has its own unique properties.
- Plant oils are light and easily absorbed by the skin, therefore not leaving it feeling greasy and clogged.
- Oils are packed full of vitamins, fatty acids and minerals. Each oil has different properties and helps a multitude of skin problems from oiliness, acne, redness , eczema, dehydration and dryness.
For superb results, I suggest that you include oil based products throughout your entire routine. Why? When cleansing because oil attracts oil, therefore oil-based cleansers dissolve makeup and grime without drying the skin. Toners can contain oils but must be alcohol free and able to pH balance the skin.
There are several good oil based products on the market at varying prices, but if you want tried and trusted quality products at very reasonable prices then I suggest you contact me
My Nutrimetics recommendations are:
NutriRich Oil EL – smooth, light and creamy. Suitable for all skins including oily.
Nutri Rich Oil with 45% apricot oil, vitamin E, sesame, rice bran and cotton seed oils, for a really rich treat.
or for simplicity use the Vitamined Oil, a concentrated blend of soybean, safflower, wheat germ and avocado.

Beauty without Surgery by Helen Reeves Nutrimetics January 23, 2012 No Comments
Be beautiful naturally
- Botox uses botulin toxin to relax muscle contraction by blocking nerve impulses
- What goes in must come out! Toxins exit the body via the liver
- When muscles are not used they become slack – long term effect = face sags more
- However, read on and see how you can have beauty without surgery
Work with what you have:
- Your own face, your own muscles, your own skin care routine
- You can boost this with just 3 extra ultra-care skin products to get you through the winter months, or try one of the products for one month – you will still see and feel a difference.
My Top Tip for a mini face lift: go OOH-AAH 3x slowly, then 3x quickly, all 3x daily
This is so easy and quick to do!
Using the current Nutrimetics ‘Skin Fit’ brochure, I have designed one and two month programmes for you, using + explaining the specialised products on page 5, so do contact me for a free, no obligation consultation to discover the best programme for you.
Do you think this will be a treat, a necessity or a luxury?
This depends on your circumstances, but just a thought on a comparison basis all 3 products will cost £64.40 giving a good 2 month treatment. This is potentially cheaper than one specialised product of other brands or one non-surgical facial.
Special offer for January + February:
- FREE ‘Skin Fit Facial Workout’ parties* include Facial Exercises – fun, effective + easy to do!
- Or book your FREE 1-1 Nutrimetics consultation with me

2011 finished on a high
with the best sales in November and December. 2012 has a powerful start with three great people promotions, namely, Frances McLoughlin achieving Group Sales Leader and producing Linda Feaney as Sales Leader, with Caroline Walsh automatically reaching Executive Sales Leader. So, huge congratulations go to the Irish Team.
Nutrimetics UK & Ireland launched the 2013 seminar location
which will be in Sorrento, Italy. There is a slight change in the qualification period this year, it is running from January 1st to December 31st 2012 so Group Sales Leaders and above are in a good position to get there. Having had a fabulous week in Sorrento last October with my husband, I know that this is a super setting for a Nutrimetics seminar and well worth getting on.
By focussing on and consistently working the business model of 2+2+2, a solid business with Nutrimetics is easily built. The formula stands for holding 2 workshop / parties a week, booking 2 more from each, and bringing in 2 working consultants per month.
My training system is Seven Steps to a Successful Nutrimetics business
and is very easy to follow. The training is free for consultants and to get the best results I recommend weekly coaching & training for the first 6 weeks to get the skills in place. My proven Tool kits back up each of the seven steps, and you will find them incredibly easy to teach on to your new consultants.
How to get started? It’s easy, just contact me via my website or leave a comment below. The start-up costs are incredibly low – £95 will open your account and give you the Beauty Kit (over £250 of skin care products). This is all you need to start your Skin Care Workshops and see your earnings coming in.
Helen Reeves prides herself on providing a flexible and fun atmosphere in which to work. The flexibility can fit around your family, a full or part time job, or just your own lifestyle.

The Party Season is with us, so have you worn your new dress yet, or is your big event (s) still to come?
Are you a lucky person who has hours to get ready, or have you got to rush from work, sort the family and then try and find 5 minutes to get yourself ready? I have written some tried and trusted tips especially for you, for both before and after the parties.
Top Make-up tips to look your best in seconds:
- Stay with your tried and trusted basic make-up, but you can make adaptions!
- Do not experiment for a big occasion ie do not change your foundation or it may change on you!
- But DO add, a little more eye pencil – just make sure you blend it well in.
- You can add more colour to your eye make-up and another coat of mascara.
- A deeper coloured lipstick, or add a neutral lipgloss over your regular lipstick for added sheen.
- Make sure your blusher tones with your lipstick eg pink to pink, bronze or coral to browns and creams.
- Emphasize your cheek bones with blusher, then apply a light dusting of powder to blend in any sharp lines.
- Add a bit of sparkle or sheen to your eye shadow, or along the top of your cheeks.
- And dust some of this sparkle through your hair and across your décolletage.
Nutrimetics has Marbleyes eyeshadows on offer at £12.95 in black, green and blue. Easy to apply and give the perfect sparkle. Try the Ultra Glam lightening lip gloss in berry, bronze, bare or blush. They come with an eternal light and slim line mirror, so you can always apply the perfect pout. £13.50
The Eye Definer Contouring Powders have shimmering pearl particles and soft, silky texture and the special applicator lets you contour, line and colour your eye lids with ease. £12.50 Mascaras in blue, brown or charcoal are £11.50 each.
Click here for the ‘Gifts to Indulge’ brochure which features them (but remember the offers end on December 30th) http://www.nutrimetics.co.uk/xbcr/nutri/UK_Nov_Specials_2011_LOC.pdf
Top Make-up Tips for a Quick Repair!
So the night was brilliant, but the morning after not quite so good!
- Concealer in either a stick or wand brush is the magic you need – apply lightly on the dark lines, blend and apply foundation to cover it.
- If your cheeks are still too red, use a green colour corrector to neutrify the redness.
- (See page 6 of the above brochure for these magic items!)
- Definitely apply powder to reduce any shine from your foundation – a matt look signals calmness.
- Apply a good coat or 2 of mascara, but not black – it is too harsh and will make the eyes look tired.
- Use a lighter colour lipstick, but not too pale.
- Eat a good breakfast and drink plenty of water so that your energy and hydration levels do not drop during the day after.
I wish you ….happy partying with best wishes from Helen and do contact me for information about Nutrimetics products or building a business of your own. www.helen-reeves.co.uk/Contact
Ginger – The Winter Warmer. Helen Reeves Nutrimetics December 4, 2011 No Comments
In Chinese medicine Ginger is used in any ailment where the body is not coping with moisture, or for example, caused by the UK damp winters. Excess catarrh, diarrhoea, arthritis, rheumatism are all aggravated by damp conditions and the fiery properties of Ginger can help combat these.
For colds, ‘flu and stomach cramps drink a homemade infusion of hot water and sliced root ginger.
For muscular cramps or fatigue, arthritis use a hot compress or massage with a diluted solution of ginger oil.
Ginger oil blends well with many other essential oils, in particular citrus oils such as lemon or orange. Lemon and Orange oils are known amongst Aromatherapists as the ‘Sunshine’ Oils. Break open an orange, and smell it! The aroma is fresh and warming and can be the best anti-depressant or winter warmer that nature can provide. The smell of lemon can focus the consciousness and clear the mind, it has a tonic effect on the circulatory system and blends well in massage oils …. with ginger.
Nutrimetics launched their exotic spice range this autumn, and it is available until the end of December. ‘Ginger Fresh’ is enriched with energising ginger extract and a cocktail of citrus and spicy essential oils. There are four products on sale either individually or in the Spice Set which gives a greater saving, each giving you a specialised body treatment whilst uplifting your mind.
- You can use the energising Shower Gel every day
- Have incredibly smooth skin with the energising, exfoliating Body Scrub 2 or 3 times a week
- Then either energise and nourish with the Body Oil spray (this is highly recommended as it soaks in so quickly)
- Or energise and hydrate with the Body Lotion.
- You can book a free ‘Winter Warmer’ workshop party to test and try these products (location permitting).

Eye Brows create WOW factor with Helen Reeves Nutrimetics November 21, 2011 No Comments
Eyebrows give expression and balance to your face.
An angular (glamour) shape can define a round face, whilst the classic arched shape is very flattering for most people. Faces with large eyes or a wide forehead will a rounded or soft template is best, and the low arched (subtle) works when the forehead is low or small.
Mother Nature will already have laid the ground work to sculpt the brows with the face shape, so they may require grooming and definition but try not to alter their basic shape. Only pluck stray hairs from under the brow, never above it and do not over pluck – you are likely to regret this at a later stage as the brow hair rarely seems to grow back to its original state.
You can use an eye pencil to emphasize your brows, just brush a soft pencil across the hair taking care not to create harsh pencil lines on the skin.
However, I really recommend the new WOW BROWS DIY eyebrow kit (see page 13) from Nutrimetics to shape and define them. It is so really simple and quick to use. Just choose one of the 4 templates for the shaping, then add the wax, add the powder, apply the highlighter under the brow, it is this easy!
At recent events including my Nutrimetics cosmetic workshop parties I have demonstrated it on just one eye brow … and the result is always the same – “WOW”, now do the other one please! It’s a super product for all of you, and will also make a fabulous present for all age groups!
If you would like to know how you can have a Wow Brow shaping lesson, or how you join my team of Nutrimetics consultants just contact me or leave a comment below
First Impressions by Helen Reeves Nutrimetics November 18, 2011 No Comments
Image is a major part in how you communicate
You have 9 seconds for that first impression and no second chance! It is interesting that the words you use only count for 7%, the way you say them for 38% and body language counts for 55%. This is because that other person is so busy looking you up and down deciding if they like you.
Colours you wear, your personality style, body shape and accessories
With these statistics it is vital that these factors enhance your looks. I have successfully used the 4 Seasons method for years, based on discovering whether warm or cool colours are best for you. Colour analysis uses three dimensions, your natural hair colour, skin tones and eye colour.
Choosing foundations and lipstick colours
How many times have you chosen a foundation but find it turns too orangey on your face, or that you look like a ghost? Or bought a lipstick but when wearing it, it changes and becomes too blue (cold) or orange and no longer resembles the colour in the tube? (What a waste of time and money, as you cannot return it!)
Make-up must be tried out properly on your skin, your lips and your eyes to get the true value form it.
It should also be tried on by you and not applied by someone else. This is because each person’s touch is very different, for example, if you compare a light touch to a heavier one the way the foundation sits and ultimately settles on the skin will be totally different, resulting in very different makeup looks. After all, it will be you applying it 99% of the time!
I suggest you book a Nutrimetics workshop or consultation so you can accomplish these objectives.
Use colour harmony to customise your make-up
Make up foundation colours vary from your colour harmonised palette due to the fact that they are one dimensional, if you have had your colours ‘done’ and for example, you are warm, you may be surprised to discover that cool or pink based foundations suit you better and vice versa. Do not panic, just find a good make-up consultant who understands this fact and let her help you choose your best colours. It is really easy if you have not been colour analysed!
Lipsticks vary according your natural lip colouring and the acidity present, so always test them on your own lips.
Eye colours are amazing and no rule fits all and I will continue this and how to create the Wow factor with your brows in my next blog!

Tired, Puffy Eyes, Dark Circles by Helen Reeves Nutrimetics November 3, 2011 No Comments
Interactive Skin Care 3 with Helen Reeves Nutrimetics
Are you concerned about puffy eyes or dark circles around your eyes?
This is the question I asked on Monday at the Nutrimetics Sales Leaders meeting and the answer, well, all but one lady put up her hand! I was quite amazed at this overwhelming response and nearly got crushed in the rush when I pulled out the brand new product – Dark Circle Eraser from the Ultra Care+ range.
Targeting tired eyes the Ultra Care+ Dark Circle Eraser refreshes them by reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. According to the press release it revives eyes in less time than it takes to have good night’s sleep! According to the ladies who were looking at me, it works, although actually I am not quite sure how to take this as I didn’t think my eyes were too bad!
The Eraser is a very clever piece of hand bag equipment, in a handy but small tube with a unique rollerball applicator for quick, fuss-free usage and is for everyone who is worried about dark circles, puffiness and tired looking eyes. It is a genuine male and female product, suitable for all skin types and very cooling to use.
Are you ready for the technical bit?
If not, then just skip this paragraph! The way it works is that peptides diminish the look of dark circles, while caffeine and arnica stimulate the skin’s natural drainage function to reduce puffiness.
And as always, I do have an additional tip to you.
Puffy eyes and dark circles can be hereditary, but can also be sign of lack of fluids, so do check you are drinking plenty of water every day.
This is a great product to enhance both our skin care workshops and the make-up workshops where you can test and try it yourself!
Please comment in the box below any questions or skin care concerns, or contact me directly.
Interactive Skin Care part 2 with Helen Reeves Nutrimetics October 28, 2011 No Comments
My last interactive blog covered how computer work can affect your skin, and how the ageing process can be slowed. Today I will discuss the effects of emotions, stress and temperature extremes on your skin and ways to counteract them.
Emotions and Stress
Stress can be physical or mental. It usually occurs when you are under pressure and can build into a mental overload will lead to poor sleep and tiredness. Being too busy to eat properly and choosing quick snacks and junk food will deprive the body of essential nutrients and develop into physical stress.
Results of long term stress will show in face quite quickly. Symptoms such as a grey, dull-looking skin, frown lines or extra lines around the mouth and eyes. Spots, eczema, rashes, hives and late-onset acne often develop.
Tips for self-help (and I agree that the advice is easier to give than to do!) are to determine the cause of the stress and remove it. If this is not possible then help yourself to cope by building relaxation into your life. Relaxation could be taking long walks, relaxing baths, massage, yoga, exercise, golf but whatever you decide you must build into your life 2 or 3 times a week.
Tips for being too busy to eat properly are self-explanatory, but I will spell them out. Eat three times a day and ever skip a meal and eat freshly prepared food where possible. Carry a nut bar or fruit with you for emergencies.
Tips for repairing your skin
Use good skin care products and use them properly, every day. You can book a Nutrimetics consultant to help you with this.
Temperature Extremes
Excess heat or cold can lead to broken capillaries or dry, delicate skin or chaffing. At Nutrimetics we see a lot of redness, flakiness and unexplained rashes.
The UK and Irish climate is very hard on our skins as we have the sun, wind, cold and rain in differing forces throughout the year. We do not escape when indoors due to air conditioning or central heating.
Tips for self-help to protect your skin include:
- Covering up
- Good skin care applicable for your type of skin
- Protection eg good sun protection products
Tips for repairing the damage:
- Nutrimetics Ultra-Care+ range offers good protection and also a variety of repair products, so do book a Nutrimetics consultation or workshop to discuss your needs.
